Hello Reader Friends:
Thank you for taking a moment to connect with me through this newsletter. This edition will dive into the importance of focus, share personal reflections, upcoming events, and, of course, my monthly Brée-sources.
As the world continues to whirl around us with its constant demands and distractions, I invite you to journey with me into the essence of focus. In a world filled with noise, focus can become our sanctuary, a place where we can reconnect with our deepest intentions and realign with our purpose. It’s more than just attention—it’s a sacred practice of presence, the art of channeling our energy toward what truly matters.
Over the past year, I have worked on strengthening the art of filtering out distractions and channeling my energy toward what truly counts. Focus has served as my guiding star, particularly when life pulls me in countless directions. As I pen these words, memories flood back of moments when my mind felt like a jigsaw puzzle, pieces scattered without a coherent image. Yet, through focus, I’ve learned to piece together those fragments, and slowly a complete picture is coming into view. By anchoring myself in daily rituals like meditation and journaling, I’ve managed to regain clarity, ensuring that I continue to move forward with purpose and intention.
Let’s get clear, focus — is not about endless grind and sacrifice. It's about striking the right balance between periods of deep work and intentional rest. By anchoring your daily rituals in a clear vision for the future, you can avoid getting pulled off course by distractions or burnout. Focus is a skill that must be practiced, but so is the wisdom to step back, recharge, and reconnect with your deeper motivations. Your focused efforts are only as strong as the stories you tell yourself, and the intentions behind the goals you've set. When you can harmonize your productivity, your self-care, and your sense of purpose, that's when the magic of true focus really takes hold.
Practical Tips for Mastering Focus:
Prioritize Daily Practices: Integrate meditation and journaling to maintain clarity and focus.
Revisit Goals Regularly: Use vision boards or planners to track progress and adjust as needed.
Create Moments of Stillness: Designate time each day to eliminate distractions and refocus your energy.
Utilize Organizational Tools: Implement tools like Notion to structure tasks and priorities.
Self-Evaluate Frequently: Periodically assess your growth to stay aligned with your long-term goals.
Focus isn’t about rigid discipline; it’s about gently guiding ourselves back when we stray. It’s about recognizing that even when life gets chaotic, we have the power to create moments of stillness, where our goals and dreams come back into sharp relief.

Brée Sources
What I’m Using: I stumbled upon a helpful Apple Watch app called Stress Watch. This app monitors your resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and a few other factors to interpret your body’s mental and physical stress levels. This app also monitors the amount of time spent in the sun, which is helpful for this work-from-home hermit.
What I’m Reading: Magical Realism: Vanessa Angelica Villarreal — This book is a beautiful work of cultural criticism mixed with so much heart and imagination that I am lowkey demanding that all of my writer friends give this a read.
